Fork Lift

This Fork Lift was mid way through a refurbishment or repair. Parts of the engine are on the benches of the worksop being cleaned and readied for rebuild.

This video was filmed at an abandoned Textiles Factory, which closed suddenly in the last decade with mounting debt and the loss of over 70 jobs.

We have explored other areas of this factory on previous visits, where access allowed us to enter.

Often passing this location going elsewhere, we check to see if any areas are doable, and go in if we’re lucky to find an open door or window.

Featuring a complete workshop and fully stocked warehouse. This is a real time capsule of an explore. Let’s go!

Were at the back of the warehouse in this opening scene where it has been used to store domestic doors in recent times. There are many containers of chemicals for dying fabrics left behind. These are now leaking so we are being careful what we touch.

Many large rolls of fabric are piled up in this area, most of them unused as they didn’t get chance to be made into anything before the factory closed.

Due to the documents and the style of this office we believe it was the warehouse managers. If you used to work here and you know what this office was used for, please get in touch on the contact form. Thank You

Drawing area
This is where engineering drawings of the machinery in the factory were stored so repairs could be made to the manufacturer guidelines.
Parts Racks
The racking seen here was for the different materials and spare parts commonly used in this workshop to repair items.
Lockers for the Workforce
The machinists and toolmakers once employed here would have used these lockers for their personal effects. Now they are bare and unused.
Wall of the Workshop
This area shot of the workshop wall is complete with a gas bottle, hoses for machine repair, racking for tools and materials, electrical isolators, and a battery charger for fork trucks.
Conveyor belt
There is an extensive conveyor system here at the Textiles mill. Once moving large rolls of material to and from different area for manufacture and sale, now left abandoned to corrode away.
Vic Mill
This Milling Machine carries out the role of a router but for metal material, this mill was set ready to run with a cutting tool in position.
Knitter Circular
This is a Circular Knitter that appears to either be scrap or was due for renovation and repair to then be re used in the Textiles Mill.
